The Metal Ware Corporation is a manufacturing company based in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, specializing in deep draw and metal stamping, rotational molding, and injection molding. Metal Ware is most known for being home of the NESCO and Chard lines of kitchen and game processing electrics, with a strong domestic manufacturing presence. Started in 1920 as a copper and nickel-plated utensil company, Metal Ware quickly expanded to become the “world’s largest electric toy manufacturer,” including fully operational steam engines and ovens for children. Metal Ware continued to expand its capabilities and product lines throughout the years to include a full line of small electric housewares. In the 1980s, Metal Ware acquired the NESCO brand of appliances, which it continues to be most known for today. The NESCO product line includes roaster ovens, slow cookers, and electric pressure cookers. In 1996, Metal Ware acquired the American Harvest brand of dehydrators, merging the line into the NESCO brand. The dehydrator trays and accessories are still injection molded domestically in Metal Ware’s headquarters. In 2016, The Metal Ware Corporation merged with Chard International, owner of the Chard and Carey brands of game processing and kitchenware products. New ownership began under current CEO Richard Carey and his business partner, COO Ross Niemi. Since then, manufacturing abilities continue to expand with the addition of rotational molding to existing plastic and metal capabilities. Today, The Metal Ware Corporation continues to grow with over 100 employees and 400,000 square feet of manufacturing, distribution, and office space across six locations. It also operates a joint venture with overseas production. Metal Ware’s main manufacturing facility continues operation after 100+ years in Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
